…It’s fair to say that although we designed this scheme for planning, we haven’t provided the details for the new thatch. I’m not even sure there are details drawn up…you rely on the brilliant artisan tradesmen (in this case David Wood) to show you how its done. The approval was granted 2 years ago but the reeds were shipped in from Europe. Apparently the reeds (usually supplied from Norfolk) we’re utilised in and around the area so nothing left for remaining counties of UK. Progress of this scheme in Main Street will be uploaded as it progresses. Replacing a tiled roof with a thatch is eco efficient and beautiful to look at. Bear in mind the original roof would have been a thatch.
