Nearly 18 months from the initial application, this beauty of a Dutch barn gained approval today. Dutch barns have a special place in history – and they should be valued. In the war, the labour force was on the frontline, so alternative methods of creating barns was required. Masonry construction is a skill and not something that can be picked up easily. So erecting fast track structures – metal with a domed roof – was a simpler solution for the remaining workforce.
